The Marostica+Cassola is part of the Merz series and was designed out of necessity when I needed strong, focused lighting in my art studio. Rather than a diffused light, I wanted a powerful illumination to work on my paintings in the evenings, and this lamp was the perfect solution. It's become a favorite among creatives, often used to light up artwork in their homes or to brighten creative spaces like fashion ateliers or painting studios.
With its sculptural form, the Marostica+Cassola doubles as an art piece while providing practical illumination. Available in a range of glaze colors, the lamp’s hue reflects in the light it casts. For instance, if you're seeking a warm, moody atmosphere, a glaze in amber will produce a luxurious amber glow, flattering the space and creating a soft, filter-like effect.
The Fondamenta, named after the Venetian term for "foundation," is deeply rooted in the tradition and culture of Venice. This project explores the foundational elements of art—both the physical foundations of Venetian architecture and the cultural foundations that shape an artist's work. It reflects Jenna’s commitment to heritage and craftsmanship while reimagining how modern design can rest on these historical foundations. A key aspect of The Fondamenta Project is its collaborative nature. It offers a platform for other creatives to work alongside Jenna, co-creating custom, bespoke pieces. By opening her process to collaboration, Basso Pietrobon allows artists and designers from various fields to contribute their ideas, making each piece a unique expression of shared creativity. This project fosters a blend of traditions and new perspectives, resulting in custom works that embody both the individuality of each collaborator and the timeless elegance of Venetian craftsmanship.
